Pura Vida, Costa Rica

There is nothing better than spending the holidays in warm weather. I get it, if you have never experienced a "white Christmas" it can look dreamy and romantic from afar... but for us who have already had plenty of snow every other year, BEACH weather is LIFE. Luckily, I was able to spend the last week of 2017 and welcome 2018 in one of the happiest countries on the planet: Costa Rica.

The first thing I wanted was a good Gallo Pinto.

Xmas and NYE was spent in Naranjo, Costa Rica with friends and family. We were even able to make a quick trip to Volcan Arenal, which was a good hike (to burn all the food we had days before.)

The views were spectacular. The weather was beautiful and breezy. After the hike, 10 minutes after we reached a restaurant off the road, it started pouring like the sky was ready to rip us a new one. It was magical.

We also spent some time in Sarchi, browsing some colorful art and eating some more since that's what MY vacations generally look like: EAT, SLEEP, EXPLORE, repeat.

For NYE we spent it at Quelites Restaurant to get the best views of the fireworks and the most delicious Maracuya dessert. <3

After the festivities were over, we headed to the beach to welcome 2018. First up, Tamarindo.
I have been to Costa Rica several times, but we generally don't stay at the beach. This time we did, and I did not want to leave.

While in Tamarindo/Guanacaste, we had plenty of beaches to visit. On the first day we spent the morning @ Playa Conchal, a beautiful beach with white sand made up of conch.

We also went to check out Las Catalinas, a new development along the Guanacaste coast. The person who bought the land, built the properties with a Euro feel. It looks incredible and it is also expensive asf.

It's nice to take a break from life, and lose yourself in fantasy land... where work doesn't exist and the nature just feeds you and takes care of you. But in all honesty, I just went to Costa Rica because I am addicted to Cafe Naranjo, and had to bring back like 50kg to last me for the year. #PuraVida
